It is the final weekend of the Premier League season. All twenty teams will be lining up on Sunday afternoon, with only two of the ten games having any real importance on them. Those will be games which determine the outcome of the Premier League title race, the only thing that is still up for grabs.
Who will be crowned champions at the end of what has been an amazing duel between reigning champions Manchester City and Liverpool?
Manchester City will be heading to Brighton for their final game. The Citizens have powered their way to a thirteen match winning streak in the league. They have done everything that they could possibly have done to keep Liverpool at bay. But still, City only have a one-point advantage at the top of the pile and know that the only way that they guarantee that they retain the title is if they were to claim three points.
Away from home, there will be pressure on City who are 1/8 odds-on favourites to win the fixture. Brighton have managed to avoid relegation, so they are not actually playing for anything. But the Seagulls have drawn three of their last four league games (D1) and with Manchester City winning three of their last four games by a 1-0 margin only, the tension will rise the longer the game stays scoreless.
Liverpool get home comforts for their final game of the season, which they will be delighted with. They have their huge Champions League semi-final success against Barcelona in midweek behind them as well for extra confidence. Liverpool are on a hot streak of eight straight league wins and will be lining up against Wolves on Sunday.
Wolves have secured a top seven finish and not be the easiest of opponents for Liverpool to break down. The Reds are 2/7 odds on favourites to collect the victory. So all Liverpool can do in context of the title race is win and hope that Brighton does them a favour against Manchester City. Liverpool do at the end of the day, need a bit of help or luck to get themselves that elusive first ever Premier League title.
