With the World Cup starting on June 12 when host’s Brazil play Croatia, many bettors will be predicting the results hoping to win big.
Picking the Outright Winner:
When it comes to betting on the World Cup most of the betting attention is usually focused on trying to pick the outright winner.
Many will no doubt be going for one of the favourites such as Brazil or Argentina. With it being hosted in Brazil, there will be lots of people expecting a South American team to lift the trophy, and the online bookmakers agree offering short odds of 3/1 for Brazil and 4/1 for Argentina.
But if you are looking for some juicier odds you might want to head outside of South America and place some faith in Germany. The bookmakers are offering 6/1 for a Germany outright win, which is very reasonable considering what they did in Euro 2012.
Ranked 2nd in the FIFA rankings, Germany are favourites to qualify from Group G, but not favourites to win the tournament. This could be because of previous poor performances in South America. But the 2014 Germany team is much better than teams past with talent all over the park.
Bosnia’s Top Goal Scorer
To counter defensive weaknesses, Bosnia who are playing in their first World Cup, will approach their games with an attacking mentality. Edin Dzeko will be crucial to Bosnia’s debut World Cup campaign. The Manchester City striker has been in scintillating form for his club. With City’s main strikers injured, he stepped up and bagged a number of important goals that helped Man City to the Premier League title. In total he scored 26 goals for City in their second title winning season of 2013-14.
Bosnia-Herzegovina coach Safet Susic will be hoping he can replicate the same form this World Cup. They will be playing Argentina, Iran, and Nigeria. Besides Argentina you can see them scoring goals in the group stage with Dzeko leading the line upfront. Edin Dzeko being the top goal scorer for Bosnia and Herzegovinas at 6/4 is particularly good odds.
