West Ham vs Astra Giurgiu UEFA Europa League odds

If there is one thing that West Ham have been so far in the UEFA Europa League adventure, it is unconvincing. Hammers fans can’t be looking forward to the new season yet based on what they have seen.

After their near embarrassment in being dumped out by Malta minnows Birkirkara, the Premier League side only moving through via a penalty shoot out, they next take on Romanian outfit Astra Giurgiu and the east London outfit are 9/20 to win the first leg with Bet365.

The Hammers have looked poor going forward and pretty laborious in their approach to games so far. They have scored just two goals in their last three games and against such weak opposition as they have faced, that’s terrible. Still, they are favourites to bank a home win on Thursday against Astra (11/2), who some may remember from their games against Celtic last season.

All the stats about Astra at the moment look pretty hit and miss and even Slaven Bilic’s tame Hammers should find a way to break them. Home advantage is suddenly looking huge for West Ham right now and after only squeezing past Inverness 1-0 on aggregate, the Romanians may offer some resistance, but should eventually break.

Not much betting confidence in West Ham, but this has the look of under 2.5 goals and all correct score, half time/full time and scorecast bets are insured by Bet365’s 0-0 Bore Draw offer.
