Finally the Premier League is back. Diehard football fans have had the World Cup to keep entertained during the Premier League off-season but they now have weekly EPL action to look forward to.
The Red Devils have continued to struggle under new coach Louis van Gaal who saw his side lose to Swansea 1-2. It just wasn’t a good defensive performance from United and early signs suggest they probably won’t be one of the top contenders again this season. Argentinian national team player Marcos Rojo has signed with Manchester United to sure up the club’s defensive frailties. This will be tested on Monday night when they face Liverpool.
On Saturday, the action begins at 12:45 when Aston Villa will play at home to Newcastle. Paul Lambert’s team is likely to use the same formation that saw them win their first game against Stoke City 1-0 where they looked solid defensively. The big game on Saturday is between Everton and Arsenal. The Blues drew their first game against Leicester City while Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 2-1 but it was a late goal that decided the tie.
On Sunday the action kicks off at 13:30 with the Hull City game against Stoke City. Mark Hughes has managed to get Victor Moses on loan which is a timely signing after their disappointing loss in their first game. And then at 16:00, Manchester United will be looking to get on the winning side of things when they play Sunderland.
The best has been saved for last as two heavyweights in the Premier League in Manchester City and Liverpool play at 20:00 on Monday. Liverpool were good enough to get the job done against Southampton last week, but it will be interesting to see how potent their attack is when they face off against the Barclays Premier League champions of last season.
