St James Park will be a very nervy place this weekend. The Magpies need a win to guarantee their Premier League status. They will however be safe as long as Hull don’t win at home against Manchester United. Unfortunately for Newcastle they have only taken one point from the last 10 matches and may have to rely on United to do the business.
West Ham are a very inconsistent side and the minute and although they will be turning up to St James’ Park following back to back defeats to Everton and Aston Villa they are a side that on their day can beat anyone.
Football Betting Offers – Newcastle are 5/6 for the win, with the draw at 3/1 and West Ham at 10/3.
Newcastle – Striker Papiss Cisse will not be available because of a knee problem but defender Mike Williamson is back after serving his suspension. Siem de Jong could also return for Newcastle following a thigh injury.
West Ham – Veteran defender James Collins will miss the trip to Newcastle after sustaining a calf injury. Kevin Nolan returns for West Ham following a family bereavement, while James Tomkins is back from injury.
This is a very difficult game to call with Newcastle having one eye on the Hull City game and West Ham having nothing really to play for. Newcastle are very short odds considering their dismal run of form. They will probably survive the drop given the fact that West Ham have nothing to play for and that Hull must beat Utd. A win for Newcastle however seems unlikely and this game has draw written all over it.
