Manchester United will be looking to get their first win of the season against QPR at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Under new coach Louis van Gaal, the Red Devils have managed to only get two points from three games so far this season. It was expected that it would probably take some time in order for the team to adapt to the new formations and structures of the Dutch coach, but the goalless draw against Burnley raises more questions about Man Utd again this season.
They will consider this to be a must win game against Queens Park Rangers who have lost two and won one of their fixtures. QPR’s three points all came from their last game prior to the international break which they played against Sunderland, winning that fixture 1-0.
Di Maria will be making his Old Trafford debut and will be better for his run against Burnley. Radamel Falcao who was also signed during the transfer window is another option for van Gaal to consider to play alongside van Persie. He has scored 155 goals in 200 previous European fixtures.
Whilst QPR’s new signings including Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker has strengthened their squad defensively, on paper Manchester United, although still yet to find form this season, have one of the best attacking squads in Europe, so it’s hard to see QPR getting anything out of this game.
With that being said, Manchester United are at short odds for the outright win, so it’s worth looking at other betting options. The over/under 2.5 goals betting market looks more attractive for this game. Considering that Manchester United are still missing key defenders and with the attacking weapons at their disposal, you can easily see the Red Devils conceding a goal or two and scoring a few themselves. You can get odds of 1.62 at Bet365 for over 2.5 goals in the match.
