Two heavyweights in the Premier League will battle it out in a FA Cup clash later today. Manchester United is taking on Arsenal at Old Trafford to decide who progresses to the semi-finals. Arsenal are the current FA Cup title holders while Louis van Gaal will be looking to win his first piece of silverware with Manchester United in his first season with the club.
Louis van Gaal has come out and said a top four finish in the Premier League is more important than winning the FA Cup, but make no mistake that with the amount spent on attracting big name players to the club, United will be expecting the result to go their way.
Heading into this encounter, the Red Devils have been winning games without playing at their best. United are in good home form while Arsenal bounced back from losing to Monaco in the Champions League to having wins against Everton and QPR in the Premier League. A quality player like Alexis Sanchez could be the difference for the Gunners although if recent history between rival clubs says anything Manchester United will have the slight advantage.
As for Manchester United, Robin van Persie will miss the game against his old club as he has been ruled out with an ankle injury, which has given van Gaal a bit of a headache, as he needs to decide whether to give Rooney a more advanced role or go with Radamel Falcao who has found it difficult to find the back of the net. A player that could make the difference for United is Ashley Young who scored a late winner against Newcastle.
This is expected to be a close contest. Our betting prediction is a 1-1 draw, which is paying 11/2 at SkyBet.
