Well the dust has settled on the UEFA Champions League group stage draw and Manchester City have drawn the short straw as far as the English clubs are conceded.
The Citizens have found themselves lumped in a group alongside last season’s UEFA Champions League runners-up Juventus and Europa League winners Sevilla. Some tough games there for the Citizens who can’t seem to avoid tough group draws and they have been pushed out to as big a price of 16/1 to win the competition.
City go as 11/10 favourites to actually top their group though. Arsenal will get another crack at Bayern Munich who have knocked the Gunners out of the competition in two of the last three seasons. They meet in a group which also contains Olympiacos and Dinamo Zagreb.
Manchester United landed themselves an easy group against PSV Eindhoven, CSKA Moscow and Wolfsburg, while Chelsea will be happy enough with their Group G draw against Porto, Dynamic Kevkev and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The Blues are the shortest priced English team in the UEFA Champions League outright winner market at 9/1, with Barcelona 11/4 favourites, Bayern Munich at 9/2 and Real Madrid at 5/1 being the only clubs shorter than Jose Mourinho’s men. Man United are 16/1 quotes with Arsenal at 20/1.
