Britain’s Chris Froome will be hoping to pull off a repeat of his 2013 Tour de France title as the famous cycling endurance event gets underway on the weekend.
The Team Sky rider has been in great shape this season winning the Vuelta a Andalucia and the criterium du Dauphine and is one of the front runners for the most famous cycling event in the world, trading at 9/5 with bookmaker William Hill to finish with the yellow jersey at the end of the month.
The realistic field in which a winner is going to be produced from in Tour de France 2015 betting is actually pretty small. Only four men are in single figures ahead of the race, Froome, Alberto Contador, reigning champion Vincenzo Nibali and Naira Quintana.
It is the latter who has attracted a lot of attention for this year’s ride, as the quiet Colombia, who is a renegade on the bike looks set and primed for a stellar challenge to win the Tour de France.
The Colombia, after his second place finish to Froome in 2013, is big value at a price of 9/4 behind the market leader, with Contador and Nibali both running as 4/1 options in the market.
