Arsenal need just one point to guarantee at worse a 3rd placed finish in this season Premier League title. Before today’s match the Gunners are 2 points ahead of 4th placed Man United and 5 points behind 2nd placed Manchester City with two games to play. If the Gunners do win then they will only be 2 points behind Manchester City going into the last game of the season.
As for Sunderland, they still need a point to ensure their Premier league status for next season. If the Black Cats do lose to Arsenal they will have to go to Chelsea on the final day of the season and get at least a point or hope that Hull lose to Man Utd.
Football Betting Offers – Arsenal are 3/10 favorites, with the draw at 19/4 and Sunderland out at 11/1. – Bet365 £200 Football Deposit Bonus…..!
Arsenal – Laurent Koscielny could be back for the Gunners following an illness, but midfield playmaker Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Debuchy are still not available. England’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Danny Welbeck are also out for the Gunners.
Sunderland – Liam Bridcutt is unavailable for Sunderland after picking up an injury in the 0-0 draw against Leicester City at the weekend. Jordi Gomez and Wes Brown are also out. There is some good news for Sunderland fans, Jack Rodwell is back after recovering from a hamstring injury and Billy Jones, who was substituted against Leicester because of cramp, is also ok to play.
This has the makings of a low-scoring game, because Arsenal will have one eye on the Fa Cup final and Sunderland needing that precious point. I can see the Black Cats trying to park the bus at the Emirates to try and frustrate Arsenal, but you would think that the quality of Arsenal will sneak through in the end and the Gunners should win in a close game.
