What’s the Difference Between 75 and 90 Ball Bingo?

There are two major variants of bingo played around the world. In the United States, 75 ball bingo is the bingo game of choice, and 90 ball bingo which is a variation of 75 ball bingo, is mostly popular in the UK, other parts of Europe and Australia. When playing both forms of bingo, you’ll have to buy bingo cards that have pre-selected numbers, and to be able to do this online you will need to put money into your bingo account.

75 Ball Bingo

In 75 ball bingo games played offline or online, numbers between 1 and 75 are called. The 5×5 bingo card contains numbers that have been selected randomly. Each of these five columns correspond with the 5 letters of B-I-N-G-O. When playing 75 ball bingo, the 5×5 card actually consists of 24 and not 25 numbers as you might think, as there is a free square in the center of the card.

As is the case in all games of bingo, the objective is to match the called numbers with the numbers on your cards to form the necessary bingo pattern before anyone else does. The patterns on the bingo cards are usually static, and the first player to complete the pattern and achieve bingo is the winner.

For example, a simple one-pattern card used in the game of 75 ball bingo may be an Airplane, Anchor and Arrow. One of the most popular bingo patterns found in 75 ball bingo games is the X-pattern, which requires players to match up a pattern that is made up of two diagonal lines. But when playing bingo games online you can find hundreds of different pattern combinations to mix things up and keep it interesting.

90 Ball Bingo

In 90 ball bingo, players have to mark off numbers on a 9×3 card which contains 15 numbers. Once a games begins, every possible number between 1 and 90 is called. Each of these numbers is unique and you have to match them up with the numbers found on your bingo card(s) that will only ever appear one time on each card.

Each game of 90 ball bingo is typically played in three separate stages as there is usually three winning patterns and three different chances of winning. These include one line, two line and full house (three line) wins. Once the first line is won, the game continues until a player is able to cross out two lines, and then three lines for the jackpot if one is being offered. And like 75 ball bingo, 90 ball bingo has a wide variety of winning bingo patterns. The size of the jackpot and eligibility rules will vary depending on where you’re playing.

After all is said and done, 75 ball and 90 ball bingo games are very similar to each other. When it comes to playing at online bingo sites, these bingo games use a random number generator (RNG) to determine the numbers that are called electronically and to ensure the fairness while you playing online bingo games.

Most online bingo halls offer both 75 ball and 90 ball bingo games, it is up to you which bingo game you prefer playing from the comfort of your own home. Multiple tickets can be purchased and played at once to increase the excitement and chances of winning and you can purchase bingo cards from as little as a penny. And because the numbers are marked off automatically, this gives you more time to focus on talking with new friends.
