Saturday’s Premier League action rounds off with action from the King Power as Leicester take on Manchester City. The Foxes have struggled badly with their title defence this season, putting up just the three wins all term but they have only lost one home game this season in the top flight. Will they be able to hold out against the Citizens? Leicester did bank themselves four points last season in their two league meetings with the Citizens, and how badly they need a boost of points and confidence at the moment.
But the Foxes haven’t beaten City in their last five at home against them in the Premier League and this is no easy game for them. Claudio Ranieri though has produced a tremendous record against Man City in the top flight, because he has won seven and drawn one of the eight previous times that he has faced up against the Citizens as a manager. Will he be able to work his magic against them again? Leicester start just the two points above the drop zone going into this one and are in a spot of bother.
Manchester City have won six of their seven away games in the top flight so while their home struggles continue after having been beaten at the Etihad by Chelsea last weekend, they will be confident of three points in this one. They will be going without the suspended Sergio Aguero who is now on the sidelines for four matches but while that sounds like a huge loss, but in the last five Premier League games that Aguero has missed, Kelechi Iheanacho has scored five goals so there is more than ample replacement there for Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola knows that he needs a big response from his players after their collapse against Chelsea last weekend in the big title race. They have to spring back and put a win on the board here with league leaders Chelsea looking as if they have a comfortable home game against West Brom on Sunday. Manchester City have won their last six fixtures against defending champions in the Premier League, last losing to Chelsea in March 2011 so there is a good omen for them. City need to click again and they are odds on favourites to do so.
